The laser light energy is shone onto the
skin and absorbed by the pigment in
the tattoo. This explodes the pigment-
containing granules in the cells. The
pigment is then absorbed by the body’s
lymphatic system over the next few weeks
and then slowly released out of the body.
Several treatments are required, spaced
at least four weeks apart, but the after-
effects are minimal and the end result is
great, fading the tattoo without causing
scarring. The laser can also treat some
scars, fine wrinkles, and skin pigmentation.
